| Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust The gothic horror of the far future comes to life once again with Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. D is hired by the Elbourne family to rescue the innocent Charlotte, who was kidnapped in the dead of night by the vampire Meier Link. D is warned, though, that he has competition: the Marcus Brothers, who are themselves not alone in their endeavor to retrieve Charlotte. For both, their task is to bring Charlotte back to them: alive if human... dead if changed. In the course of this latest hunt, though, the half-vampire hunter wrestles with two separate situations. First, it seems that Charlotte is actually a willing participant in this abduction. Second, there is a woman who travels with the Marcus brothers, whose life is drowned in the blood of vampires... yet D can sense the potential to restore some semblance of life in this woman. As D himself continues to fight his vampire heritage, he also struggles to, if not stop the bloodbath, at least to not leave everything a tragedy.
