W.I.T.C.H. is based on a comic published by Disney's European publishing division. W.I.T.C.H is the story of 5 girls chosen to become guardians of the veil, a magical border that separates Metamoor from the rest of the known worlds. Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin are the five young girls who discover that have been given elemental powers which they must use as Guardians of the Veil. Each of them is granted power over one element, Cornelia has Earth, Taranee has Fire, Irma has Water, and Hay Lin has Air. Will is the only one that does not control one of the four elements, as she is the heart, or neutral, that unites the other four. Although not guardians, Cedric and Eylon are occasionally mentioned as the dark and the light. They oppose the despotic Prince Phobos who rules the land of Meridian with an iron fist. |
